Alisa Marie Silas
1962 - 2010

Mrs. Alisa Marie Sibley Silas
Alisa "Lisa" Marie Sibley Silas was born in Vallejo, California May 11, 1962 to George and Phyllis Sibley. She was the oldest of six children. Lisa passed away at Hospice of East Texas July 28, 2010 after a long hard fight with colon cancer.

After a 23-year relationship she married Gregory Charles Silas on July 10, 2006. Lisa loved Greg very much and would often talk about how much he has always been there for her through thick and thin, through sickness and health. Greg and Lisa relocated to Tyler, Texas to care for her mother who was her best friend.

Lisa grew up knowing the truth about Jehovah and decided to make the truth her own and was baptized in Texas in June, 2007. She often bragged about her loving friends in her congregation of how she always had a wonderful time with them in the field ministry even auxiliary pioneering.

If you knew, Lisa you knew that she was a fighter, giving up was not in her vocabulary. Lisa would always say what helped her most during her fight with cancer was the encouraging comments from her family and friends. Their presence from time to time not only put a huge smile on her face; but showed her that she was truly loved.

Lisa became really close with her spiritual sisters in the congregation and often expressed that she loved the sisterhood they all had. Lisa loved her four sisters and brother and would do anything to make them happy. She adored all of her grandchildren and it just made her day when she would see them Lisa did not meet a stranger, she loved people and always made them laugh with her jokes and sense of humor.

Lisa loved to cook and entertain her family and friends, and when describing one of her delicious meals she would say, "We got it going on over here."

When Lisa came to know Jehovah you saw a sense of relief in her, an accomplishment within herself. She’s been quoted to say, "Why did I wait so long to become one of Jehovah Witnesses. Being a servant of Jehovah is one of the best things that has ever happened to me." Lisa talked about Paradise a lot, and the one thing she wants from all of us she says is to see us all when she wakes up in Paradise.

Her grandparents, Robert and Sally Sibley and Alfado Cain; sister, Wilhemina Sibley; uncles, Willie Alley, Jr., James and Joe Cain, nephew, Rueben Sibley, Jr. and special friend, Bobbie White all preceded her in death.
